A Letter to First Holy Communion Class 2020

8th May 2020

First Holy Communion Class 2020

Dear A.J., Anna, Aoibheann, Aoibhinn, Caoimhe,  Cillian, Darragh, Diarmuid, Ellie, James, Jayden, Liam, Ned, Noah, Ruby, Saoirse, Shannon, Sophie, Sophie and Ultan,

Tomorrow, Saturday May 9th would have been the celebration of your First Holy Communion.

Unfortunately because you, and everyone else, are keeping apart for the moment it means that this year your First Holy Communion will not be celebrated tomorrow. But don’t worry, this big celebration of the first time you will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist will happen when the health authorities decide that it is safe and the bishop and priests make a decision. Then you, your families, friends and school will be ready to come together for this special event in your lives.

I’m sure you are really looking forward to it. I know that Ms Redfern is, as I am  and all the teachers and staff in Scoil Mhuire.

So tomorrow, when you are out enjoying the lovely weather, maybe you might say a little prayer for all the people who are sick at the moment, and for all the people who are working hard to keep the rest of us safe and well. Think of all your family and friends, maybe even your teachers, and most importantly of all be happy and enjoy the day. You will get your chance to have your special day.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Eleanor Ní Dhuibhir,

Príomh Oide
