What a busy few weeks we've had in Senior Infants and First class! Lots of fun with phonics was practised indoors in chants, on paper and out in the yard playing 'S' Snake Island games and other beanbag tricks. Our love of colour was explored as we went on a 'Colour Hunt; around the grounds of Scoil Mhuire, played 'Riddle me Right' colour detective games, 'What Colour is your favourite____?' Room 2 became a Science Lab one afternoon, as the children mixed different combinations of the three primary colours to make various secondary colours. We then transformed into artists and each child happily created a unique painting using their very own newly-created shades and tones. Our colour creations overlapped into mathematics as patterns of stick arrangements were copied and created in their pods.
Well done to each and every child for their care to follow our hygiene routines and other safety protocols around the building and yard. We are off to a great start for this school year.
