On Wednesday 2nd December our pupils in Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Classes will take part in the Concern Christmas Fast.
For many years this has become a very successful annual event in Scoil Mhuire. Our generous pupils will fast from all sweets, biscuits, fizzy drinks and treats for 24 hours. They have been busy contacting family members and friends on the phone seeking sponsorship and support.
All the monies raised will be sent to the wonderful Irish organisation, Concern, who will spend this much-needed money helping people in less developed parts of our world. In this way we try to bring the true message of Christmas and human kindness to those who need our help.
We are very grateful to everyone - families and friends - who have supported the children in their generosity. Please continue to think of those who are not as lucky as we are, particularly during this Covid 19 pandemic.
