Following a rescheduling due to Storm Agnes, pupils from 3rd to 6th class travelled to Thurles for the County Tipperary Primary Schools Cross Country on Thursday 28th September.
Our 3rd and 4th class girls were in action first and they achieved great success with Lauren Browne coming in comfortably to claim gold. Bella Curling came in 3rd to win bronze and Grace Kelly and Emma Kelly (4th) also finished in the top ten to earn these four girls the team gold medal. Emma Kelly (3rd) also finished in the top ten, and with further strong finishes from Abbie Bourke, Amy Rose Hayes and Abbie Breen, these four girls won the team bronze medal.
Next up were 3rd and 4th class boys and the winning streak continued as Ewan McGlinchey, Ted Ryan and Darragh Comerford finished in the top ten. These boys were joined by Conor Breen to win the team silver medal.
Louise Heney won an individual medal in the 5th and 6th class girls race, as did Ryan Kelly in the 5th and 6th class boys race.
We all enjoyed a great day out, and every pupil crossed the finish line in their own individual race - a fantastic achievement and one we are very proud of.
