It has been an extremely busy, but very rewarding, month in 4th class. We have enjoyed lots of different seasonal activities, including Biongó na Nollag and Christmas acrostic writing.
The pupils undertook a very interesting maths activity where they were given some supermarket brochures and a budget of €100 to buy food, snacks and treats for the Christmas dinner. The children were really shocked at the price of the turkey alone, and the cost of all the trimmings. They became very clever at shopping around between the different catalogues to get the best price.
They also became maths detectives in order to solve ‘The Mystery of the Missing Presents’. Well done to the teams who figured out the name of the culprit.
The children have enjoyed basketball at lunch time and their skills are really improving, along with a great sense of team play and participation. Well done to both teams.
