The last month of the year has arguably been the busiest. So much fun was had retelling the story of the ‘Three Little Pigs’ in English and as Gaeilge before we delved into the magic of Christmas. Tá an Nollaig ag teacht! Tá áthas ins an aer. We have been singing, reading, writing about and drawing the Christmas story and of course the much-anticipated arrival of ‘Daidí na Nollag’. Lots of exercise was had with games in the hall. We’ve been counting Christmas decorations and revising our work in Maths since September. The Christmas Maths Quiz was a great success. Senior Infants had a brilliant morning in the Source in Thurles helping Santa’s reindeer find their way to Ireland and the First Class thoroughly enjoyed their trip to UL to see “Snow White and the 7 Dwarves”.
A surprise visit to Mrs Dalton’s room for games, quizzes and stories was thoroughly enjoyed. Our playtime creations are becoming more elaborate and creative and it’s lovely to see the children working together to develop their ideas into constructions of various types.
We are so very proud of all the children in Room 2 who worked hard to learn all the songs, amhráin, lines and actions to perform for their families on Dec 19th. They were all stars on the day. Nollag Shona dhiaibh go léir ó Seomra 2.
