There was a great buzz around Scoil Mhuire this morning as all pupils and staff made their way to the Halla for the annual Trócaire Easter Raffle. We began with drawing one ticket from each classroom ticket box and then all tickets were put into a large box for the rest of the draw. There were 27 prizes on offer - Easter eggs, both large and small, and chocolate bunnies galore. There was great excitement as each name was read out and the winners made their choices from the table of goodies. All pupils in the school received a small treat as a reward for their generosity to our Lenten cause.
This years' raffle has knocked all previous raffles out of the park as we raised a phenomenal €1379.22. The pupils themselves were stunned when the final total was called out and responded with a happy cheer and a standing ovation. The generosity of our pupils and their families to those most in need is always very evident, but we are blown away by the response this year.
A huge thank you for your support of our school fundraising activities. We teach our children a valuable lesson in donating what we can to help those who need it most.
