ESB Science Blast in M.I. Limerick
On Thursday 23rd May the pupils from 2nd, 3rd and 4th Classes travellled to Mary Immaculate College, Limerick to take part in the ESB Science Blast 2019. The teachers and pupils in Scoil Mhuire were delighted to have been chosen to take part in this exciting event.
The ESB Science Blast is a non-competitive initiative which aims to support the development of core science and maths skills in primary school children. The purpose of the judging experience is to ensure that the students have the opportunity to discuss their work and receive feedback from someone who works in a STEM related field.
The pupils from Scoil Mhuire had a wonderful day in M.I. College and found the experience of discussing and explaining their project to visitors and judges very positive and encouraging. They also enjoyed discussing the other projects at the Science Blast with pupils and teachers from other schools. The judges were very impressed with Knockavilla NS project, which they described as 'highly impressive' and 'excellent'.
