Junior Infants have settled in well to school life and have enjoyed lots of playful learning through the themes of ‘Myself and My Family’ and ‘Our School’ during the month of September. We explored new vocabulary for each theme, read lots of stories and explored our Aistear play stations each day. We have been busy with lots of sorting and matching activities in Maths and the boys and girls even helped me match my odd socks! We have been exploring writing our names and reciting lots of rhymes, both in English and as Gaeilge. We have been exploring lots of mark-making and patterns using different materials and we even explored mixing red, blue and yellow paint to make orange, green and purple and painted a Kandinsky-inspired piece masterpiece. Junior Infants are also really enjoying taking part in Music Generation this year and look forward to the wonderful rhyming and rhythmic songs and marches we do each week with Treasa.
