The pupils and staff of Scoil Mhuire, together with the wider school community, have always worked hard to spread the true message of Christmas. The Concern Christmas Fast has become an essential part of the lead-up to the Christmas season here in Knockavilla NS. On Wednesday the pupils in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes fasted from all treats, sweets and fizzy drinks for 24 hours. They gathered sponsorship money from their generous families and friends and this money will be sent to Concern to help alleviate the suffering of those in the world who have so much less than us.
On Thursday our senior pupils in 6th Class organised a Cake Sale and Christmas Jumper Day. The proceeds from these events will be given to the local St Vincent de Paul and the Eswatini School project in Swaziland as well as Concern.
