Letter from the School Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your families and friends are well. I especially hope that all our pupils are keeping well during these days. No doubt they have been enjoying the long summer evenings and the many opportunities to get out and about in the lovely countryside.
This week you will find some great fun-activities for School Sports Week on the Home learning page. All of the school staff hope that every family will enjoy the games and will be very active during the week!
As we approach the end of school year, the teachers and staff are all very busy planning for the 2020-2021 school year. We hope that school will begin for our pupils on September 1st next, but of course in these present times nothing can be definite. We will strive to keep you up-dated through the school website and the school app. Many of you have downloaded the app, but there are still some parents/guardians who have not downloaded it. Now might be a good time to do that as it is a very useful way to send reminders of items which have been uploaded to the school website! It can be found in the App store under Schools Ireland. Choose our school and download.
The teachers are finishing the school reports and they will be sent to you over the coming days. The booklists for next year will accompany the school reports.
We now need to get the school books back from the pupils in preparation for next year. The success of our book rental scheme depends on your cooperation. It has worked very well over the last number of years and has made the children’s school books very affordable for all. If this is to continue we now need to get all the books back in good condition.
The books will be collected at the school on Thursday 25th of June between 11am and 12.15 pm. Each teacher will have a list of the books each child needs to return and these will be ticked off when they are returned to the school.
To avoid large crowds at the school we have arranged for parents/guardians (no children as advised by the school management bodies) to return the books in alphabetical order at an allotted time as follows:
Surnames Beginning with A and B 11 – 11:15
C an D 11:15 – 11:30
F to H 11:30 – 11:45
K to O 11:45 – 12;00
