Nollaig Shona - A Christmas Message from the Principal

24th Dec 2020

Dear Pupils, Parents/Guardians,

I would like to wish all of you a very Happy and Holy Christmas. 2020 has been a different year for all of us. It has brought home to us how vulnerable all of us can be, and how we have often taken our families and dear ones for granted.

Over the past months, when it has often been difficult to meet those we love and care about, we have felt their absence greatly. This is a very unusual Christmas for us. We will not be able to mingle with our friends and extended families in the same ways as before. However, we will be able to celebrate the wonder and love of that first Christmas in our own homes. We will have the time to think about the real meaning of Christmas and the joy a simple phone call, smile or wave can bring to a lonely family member, neighbour or friend.

I would like to thank every parent/guardian very sincerely for your co-operation and help during the current pandemic. Without this we could not have kept the school safe, healthy and open for everyone since September. I would like to especially thank all the staff in the school for their great dedication, professionalism and hard work during the past term. Since March, the Covid pandemic has reinforced to us the importance of schools, teachers and education in our children’s lives. It has been a stressful time for everyone in the school team, ensuring that we could make this school as safe as possible for the pupils and staff.

Tá súil agam go mbeidh Nollaig shona sásta ag gach duine dhaoibh - pupils, parents/guardians, families, friends and our great staff. Keep safe and well over the holidays.

Nollaig Shona Dhaoibh go léir.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Eleanor Ní Dhuibhir

Príomh Oide
