Rang a hAon agus Rang a Dó have done a wonderful job settling back into school life and have been super busy the past month! We’ve been getting to know one another as well as the new routines. In the first few weeks we created our own puppets of ourselves!
We spoke about kindness and read the story ‘Have you filled a bucket?’, discussing the importance of being kind to one another, ‘filling’ everyone’s ‘bucket’. We are a bucket filling class!
As autumn is well and truly here, we have been busy discussing and learning about the changes autumn brings, such as the weather and the colour of the leaves on the trees outside. We collected various types of leaves and fruits from the trees outside to create our very own autumn wreaths. For Art, we became abstract artists exploring Kandinsky’s circles, creating our own autumn-themed trees, as well as mixing the primary colours to create new colours.
We also became scientists for a day, when we tested materials to see whether they were waterproof or not so that we could create new boots for Paddington.
