Spooky School Day to Celebrate Oíche Shamhna
Today the Knockavilla pupils were replaced by many types of ghosts, goblins, witches and wizards at school. The tradition of creating costumes to scare their friends and teachers is getting stronger every year here at Scoil Mhuire.
This year the judges found it exremely difficult to pick winners from each class, but all agreed that the effort put in by many pupils to create their own costumes was of a very high standard this year. Everyone was very impressed with the imaginative creations. We had 'The Cookie Monster', 'Cereal Killers', most of Gryffindore House and a large coven of mini witches who arrived on their broomsticks, a mad scientist, Nuns, a troop of wounded soldiers and a collection of seriously injured hurlers.
The winners this year were Cian in his cereal box, Shannon the Mummy, Aoife the Spider, Leah the Poor Old Lady and the winner of the Scoil Mhuire Halloween Perpetual Trophy was Seán as Mrs Browne. Seán's costume was very well designed and he carried it off with great success. Well done Seán for putting a smile on everyone's face today!
