Spring has sprung in Rang a hAon agus Rang a Dó

30th Mar 2021

We were so happy to be back in school with all of our friends and teachers in March. Spring is well and truly here, so we went on a Spring scavenger hunt to spot the beautiful signs of Spring around the school, such as the budding flowers and the new leaves on the trees. We learnt about what plants needed to grow and planted a variety of flowers and cress.

Le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge, bhí an spórt agus spraoi againn ag foghlaim “an Dreoilín” agus ag foghlaim faoi na huirlisí éagsúla. We made our own St Patrick’s Day flags and took part in the virtual Parade for Lá l'e Pádraig. For World Book Day, we had a quiz to test our knowledge on different books and fairytales and we also wore odd socks for World Down Syndrome Day.

We welcomed new visitors, the frogspawn, to the outdoor classroom, learning about the lifecycle of the frog and creating our own hopping frogs. We can’t wait to see them grow!

Rang a Dó built their own symmetrical lego creations in maths and as the Easter holidays approached, we learnt about Holy Week and talked about saying our prayers and remembering Jesus at this special time. We chatted about things we were grateful for and listened to Alex and Jocsan's story over in Africa, for this years Trócaire campaign. We made our very own Easter bunnies and started the Easter holidays with an Easter Quiz and the Easter Raffle for Trócaire.

We can’t wait to be back in school for the summer term!
