Rang 3 & 4 performed this short musical for Christmas.
The story of the Match girl reminds us of the need to care for the poorest in our society and shows the love and hope that Christmas brings.
The play is set at a Christmas Fair in Victorian times. Its nearly Christmas and time for the annual Nativity play.
At the fair Old Tom, the chestnut seller is telling the story of the match girl to the children. As her story is being told the Nativity play takes place. The little Match Girl appears at the fair, barefoot and poor. Sadly no one buys her matches and no one helps her. Her hope lies in heaven where she is welcomed by the Angels.
